Cyberpunk 2077 is nearly upon us, and the game that has been delayed several times will be in our hands in just one week. However during the current global crisis, times are hard and cuts have to be made, with lots of people being unable to afford the new game.

In times of great hardship come the most beautiful moments of kindness though.

An individual recently shared a story to Reddit, telling us of how they were in-line at a GameStop store, waiting to pay for their Collector’s Edition pre-order of Cyberpunk 2077. Several customers in the line were reportedly chatting and expressing their excitement for the highly anticipated RPG from CD Projekt Red.

Sadly however, in a contrast of scenarios, while one customer was there to pay for their pre-order another was there to cancel theirs.

The individual there to cancel their Collector’s Edition had, like many of us, been hit hard financially due to COVID-19 and had lost their job as a result.

This customer had also welcomed a new child into their family so weighing up their options, they perhaps decided that spending around $300 on the Collector’s Edition wasn’t at the top of their priorities right now.

Upon hearing of this situation, the Reddit user tells of how another customer paid off their Collector’s Edition, turned around and handed over their receipt to the person who had cancelled theirs.

“The guy behind him was bummed because he wasn’t able to afford the game due to covid and his job closing,” writes the Redditor. “The guy with the Collectors Edition, then pays it off, turns around and hands the other dude his receipt and said ‘merry Christmas,’

“This dude maybe 25ish broken down and starting crying. Hands down almost cried myself. We need happy feel good sh*t in this world.”

The story has since blown up on both Reddit and Twitter, with many people praising the individual for their incredible act.

With so much stress happening in the world right now, it’s nice to hear of these exceptionally kind gestures. However if you don’t believe this story, you may not want to read the edit on the Reddit post (or maybe you will).
