A new gameplay trailer for Hogwarts Legacy is all about showcasing the immersive features of the PS5s DualSense controller.
Furthermore, as detailed on the PlayStation Blog we also learned all about the new-gen capabilities that the PlayStation 5 will bring to the enchanting world of wizardry.
The PlayStation 5’s DualSense capabilities are one of the standout features of Sony’s new-gen console. It goes far beyond a simple rumble feature. Depending on the game, you can feel the terrain, the jolt of a gun, the pull of a bow and arrow, and much more.
The Haptic Feedback and Adaptive Triggers are more than just gimmicks, they really do add an extra layer of immersion to new-gen games. So, with that in mind, it seems that the developers at Avalanche Software plan to take that immersion to the next level.
Avalanche Software claims that the DualSense controller will be “an extension of your wand in Hogwarts Legacy.” You will not only feel each spell being cast but also the grinding of ingredients as you create new spells too.
Magical immersion!
If that wasn’t enough for you, the developers explained in the PS Blog post that feedback from the right side of the controller will represent your wand. Presumably, the playable character in Hogwarts Legacy will be right-handed in that case. It might only seem like a small detail, but it’s these small details that add to the immersive ingredients.
Hogwarts Legacy Officially Reveals Hogsmeade Village Location
Furthermore, you will also be able to feel the DualSense controller features when exploring the halls of Hogwarts or traversing its outer grounds. The DualSense features will also extend to gameplay moments involving the flying broomstick and gliding on the back of a Hippogriff.
Hogwarts Legacy will be a wonderful and colourful game to explore, and the DualSense controller will reflect that. The controller will light up and even pulse when spells are being cast, as well as represent the colours of your house, whether that be Hufflepuff, Gryffindor, Ravenclaw or Slytherin.
What else can we expect?
Hogwarts Legacy will also give the players on any new-gen console the choice of either Fidelity or Performance modes. Obviously, Fidelity prioritises visuals and resolution, while Performance will favour the framerate.
The PS5 will also take advantage of the console’s Tempest 3D AudioTech, so you will hear the halls of Hogwarts like never before. Oh, and you’ll also be able to hear sounds such as a cauldron bubbling or a Hippogriff’s wings flapping through the controller’s built-in speaker.
