2018’s smash hit PlayStation 4 exclusive, God of War, might no longer be confined to the Sony console. The game’s official page has seemingly received a bit of an update over on PlayStation.com, bringing about one notable change – the removal of the “Only On PlayStation” label.
As spotted on Twitter, the removal of the label points to pretty much one thing: God of War is likely to be going over to PC. It wouldn’t be the first PlayStation exclusive to migrate to PC, following on from 2019’s Death Stranding and 2017’s Horizon Zero Dawn. Both of these titles will be coming to PC later this year.
Last year, God of War director, Cory Barlog, responded to a fan query about the possibility of the game leaving PS4.
He responded: “You know, I would love that. It is, sadly, a decision far above my paygrade. As is proven on a daily basis, I am no Kojima.”
Could it be that it’s actually happening? As always, take the rumour with a pinch of salt until we hear confirmation.
Though I personally camp on the side of “the more people getting to play great games, the better,” not everyone shares my sentiments. Following on from the recent confirmation of Horizon Zero Dawn on PC, one gamer absolutely lost their sh*t, suggesting we could see the same with God of War.
As Guerrilla Game took to Twitter to share the announcement, one user responded with a video of what appears to be a smashed computer that they seemingly destroyed following the confirmation of Horizon Zero Dawn on PC.
They captioned the clip writing: “Great way to spend my birthday. Thanks for f*cking nothing @PlayStation @Guerrilla @hermenhulst @yosp decades thrown away and now it was all for nothing.”
Would you like to see God of War on PC?
