Ubisoft has confirmed that the upcoming Prince or Persia: Sands of Time remake has been delayed, with 2020 being the cause for yet another push back in gaming.
The news was shared to ResetEra, where it’s been confirmed that Ubisoft has delayed the remake from its initial release window of January 21, 2012, until March.

“Greetings, Prince of Persia fans! During our Ubisoft Forward digital conference, we proudly announced Prince’s return from Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake,” says the statement from Ubisoft.
“We are excited to be able to put this game in your hands again as we retell the story of Prince and Farah in the amazing 11th century Persia. However, 2020 was a year like no other.

“Today we would like to inform you that we need more time to complete the game. With that, the release date of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake has been moved to March 18, 2021. We believe this is the right decision to ensure we deliver a game you like. Thank you for your patience and continued support of the Prince of Persia, and we hope you remain safe and healthy during this holiday season.”
While it’s definitely sad news for many fans, there has so far been mixed reception towards the remake. Gamers criticised the graphics during its reveal earlier this year, with many players calling for a full remake rather than this, which definitely looks more like a remaster.

Perhaps the delay will mean we’ll be getting a full from-the-ground-up Prince of Persia: Sands of Time remake? Only time will tell!
