New details on the upcoming Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales have been revealed, including the addition of a crime-fighting Spider-Man cat?
Thanks to the latest issue of Game Informer, a bunch of new details have been announced about Miles Morales (including the fact the game has next to no loading times), but perhaps most exciting is the reveal of a new Spider-Man.
Although the game will focus mostly on Miles Morales, a different Spider-Man will make an appearance – as a crime-fighting cat bearing the same name as the web-slinger.
According to the publication, you’ll be joined on your new adventure by a cat who’ll be able to assist you in fighting foes. The Spider-Man cat comes as a reward for completing one of the side quests in the game, and will be an extension of one of the unlockable costumes.
Unlocking Spider-Man cat will allow the kitty to come to your aid in battle, which is possibly one of the best reasons to pick up the game if you haven’t already pre-ordered it.
As noted by Game Informer, the Spider-Man cat mission will see you helped a store owner who’s just been robbed. You’ll need to rescue the cat (named Spider-Man) by defeating the thieves and then locating the missing kitty. After a few more fights, you’ll find the cat hiding within a backpack which you’ll then use to transport Spider-Man cat back to his owner. Fur-ever (sorry) grateful, Spider-Man (again, the cat) will be at your beck and call after you unlock and equip the suit you’re rewarded with.

Spider-Man will be wearing the iconic mask over the top part of his lil furry noggin, and he’ll leap from your backpack and attack enemies when you perform a finishing move. Can anyone say “Game of the Year”…?
