After the news that Spider-Man: Miles Morales is coming to PC, it’s also now (kind of) coming to mobile devices.
Last week during PlayStation’s State of Play, it was revealed that both Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Miles Morales were coming to PC. It’s a great move from Sony, one that is seeing its first party titles making their way to PC. Even if it is a long while after the games first come out.
Now though, specifically Spider-Man: Miles Morales is technically coming to mobile. To be clear, it isn’t actually developer Insomniac putting out the game on mobile devices. But it’s a fan project from R-User Games, a YouTube channel seemingly dedicated to remaking popular games for Android.
This time, they’ve taken to remaking Spider-Man: Miles Morales for mobile devices, and it honestly looks pretty great. It looks like R-User Games pulled suits and animations straight from the original game. Though enemy NPC models and the cityscape are just plain assets.
One particular moment in the trailer for the fan game pretty faithfully recreates the upside down shot from Into the Spiderverse too. So clearly R-User Games are some big Spider-Man fans.
It also recently came to light that Spider-Man might not have been a PlayStation exclusive. According to a recent report, Microsoft actually turned down the exclusive rights to develop Marvel games.
Obviously, this has now led to Insomniac developing PlayStation exclusive Spider-Man and Wolverine games. The former of which has obviously proven to be very successful. So one can only assume Microsoft is kicking itself a bit.
