This Minecraft Arctic Mountain Has To Be Seen To Be Believed

A Minecraft player has managed to make an arctic mountain in the game so realistic you’ll not realise it’s made from blocks on a first look.

Many people like to poke fun at Minecraft and its player base for a variety of reasons, most of them unfair. But one thing you can’t fault the community for is its lack of creativity.

Minecraft fans go absolutely wild in the game sometimes. One player is trying to build the entirety of the Star Wars galaxy in one huge map. Another near perfectly recreated the entire map from The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening. And another built a pitch perfect PC. But now, a user on reddit by the name of craftgig14 has taken to Minecraft to make a hyper realistic arctic mountain.

It really is ridiculous how good this mountain looks. One commenter said they, “Had to zoom in to realise it was minecraft,” which is entirely valid. Another thought craftgig14 was posting a real picture pretending to be made in Minecraft, a common thing on the game’s subreddit.

To achieve this feat of realism, craftgig14 used a couple of tools. First, they used a tool called World Machine that lets you generate terrain such as rivers or mountains. Then they used WorldPainter, a Minecraft tool that lets you paint terrain the way you would use other paint programs.

Apparently craftgig14 is planning on building the fortress from Inception on top of the mountain. So we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for that likely excellent followup.
