Cyberpunk 2077 ‘Has Xbox Series X Performance Modes – But Not PS5’

It appears that Cyberpunk 2077 on Xbox Series X|S has performance modes, while the PS5 version does not.

Media outlet VGC has copies of Cyberpunk 2077 on both PS4 and Xbox One (as well as PC) and has tested both console versions of the game on their respective next-gen platforms via backwards compatibility.

Their findings discovered that when playing on Xbox Series X you have the option to prioritise either a higher resolution or a smoother framerate.

However it seems that no such options appear when playing Cyberpunk 2077 on Sony’s PS5.

This is only speculation on my part, but much of the console marketing for Cyberpunk 2077 has been focused on the Xbox Series X at least from what I have noticed.

So perhaps the developers at CD Projekt Red have focused on adding the performance options on Xbox Series X pre-launch and will add them to the PlayStation 5 post-launch.

In truth I would find it very strange for the PS5 to not also have these performance options, so it wouldn’t surprise me if they are added via the big update that is planned on release day.

With the launch of Cyberpunk 2077 finally arriving this week, thankfully we won’t have long to find out either way.

In related news developers CD Projekt Red were recipients of some controversy this week over the apparent lack of epilepsy warnings in Cyberpunk 2077 which was brought to light by a Game Informer reviewer.
