God of War director Cory Barlog has thrown his name into the proverbial ring to play a role in the recently announced Deadpool 3.
For the first time since Disney’s acquisition of Fox, it has been revealed that Deadpool 3 is now in pre-production.

The “Merc with a Mouth” wasn’t a sure-fire bet to start production anytime soon (especially with the R-Rated nature of the previous two movies starring Ryan Reynolds), but it seems like Disney has no issue with the NSFW franchise.
To say that the gore, violence and bad language don’t fit your usual Disney movie is an understatement. However if you were to water down Deadpool 3, it would lose a huge chunk of its charm and it wouldn’t go down well with fans.

Word that Deadpool 3 has entered pre-production has sent fans into a frenzy with many hoping that these are the first steps towards introducing Deadpool not only into the Marvel Cinematic Universe but also into an X-Men reboot.
According to Deadline, Disney has hired sister duo Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Loeglin as screenwriters for Deadpool 3.
So with the exciting news that Deadpool 3 has begun pre-production, entertainment website Nerdist tweeted: “Who should make an appearance in Deadpool 3?”
So taking the opportunity to respond, God of War director Cory Barlog simply replied “me”.
Andrew Goldfarb of Sucker Punch Productions joined in on the mini campaign to get Cory Barlog into Deadpool 3 by sharing a humorous tweet of the Gandalf-and-Balrog scene from The Lord of the Rings. Because Balrog sounds a bit like Barlog, I presume?
Obviously at this stage this is all just a bit of fun, and it’s incredibly unlikely that Cory Balrog will feature in Deadpool 3, though it’s not outside the realms of possibility that he could be an unnamed extra.
