Gran Turismo 7 could be the next PlayStation console exclusive that’s coming to PC, suggests Polyphony Digital CEO.
During the recent Gran Turismo World Finals in Monaco, France over the weekend, GT series creator and Polyphony Digital CEO Kazunori Yamauchi hinted that GT7 would be the next PlayStation arrival.
PC has enjoyed a flurry of PlayStation ports
The PC market has seen a flurry of popular PlayStation titles in recent months with the likes of Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, God of War (2018), Horizon Zero Dawn, Marvel’s Spider-Man as well as Days Gone. So naturally, fans are wondering if Gran Turismo 7 might be next.
Thankfully, the folks over at GTPlanet got to speak to Kazunori Yamauchi at the Gran Turismo World Finals and they asked if the GT series could be the next PC port.

When asked if Gran Turismo could be coming to PC, Yamauchi replied: “Yes, I do think so.” However, Yamauchi also implied that there might be some technical hurdles to overcome.
Gran Turismo could be fantastic on PC
“Gran Turismo is a very finely tuned title,” Yamauchi-san explained. “There are not many platforms which could run the game in 4K/60p natively, so one way we make that possible is to narrow down the platform. It’s not a very easy subject, but of course, we are looking into it and considering it.”
Gran Turismo has only ever been released on PlayStation
If Gran Turismo 7 does come to PC, it could be likely, it would be the first time the series has been available on another platform. During its 25-year existence, GT has only been available on PlayStation.
That being said, as much as a technical marvel Gran Turismo 7 is on PlayStation, it was shrouded in post-launch microtransaction and progression controversy. Nonetheless, playing GT7 on a beast of a PC could prove to be something very special.

We reviewed Gran Turismo 7
In our review of Gran Turismo 7, we said: “While it certainly does a great job of onboarding newcomers warmly, it does so at the risk of boring its more eager fanbase. That makes Gran Turismo 7 a difficult game to recommend unless you love cars and their culture with your whole heart.”
