Death Stranding is coming to PC Game Pass. That’s at least what’s suggested by the official PC Game Pass Twitter account.
So why is Death Stranding being teased for PC Game Pass? Well, the representative Twitter account recently changed its profile picture which looks to be a screenshot from Death Stranding. Furthermore, in a tweet teasing the profile picture change was the line “sometimes we just like a good landscape picture.”
Death Stranding wouldn’t be the first Sony game on Game Pass
Now, before we get carried away, there are a number of complications with this tease. For starters, the Death Stranding IP is owned by Sony. However, that hasn’t stopped MLB The Show from coming to Xbox Game Pass. MLB The Show is a series funded by Sony but still came to Microsoft’s subscription service.
In relation to Death Stranding, it is also a game funded by Sony, and the company owns the publishing rights. That being said, the publishing rights were handed to 505 Games by Sony to release on Steam. As highlighted by Giant Bomb’s Jeff Grubb back in April.
However, it’s worth keeping in mind that we’re talking about PC Game Pass and not Xbox Game Pass. As surprising as it might be to see Death Stranding come to the PC version of the service, I would be shocked to see it available on Xbox.
If there’s some kind of legal loophole which could see Death Stranding arrive on PC Game Pass, it would certainly be a strange sight to see. But one that will likely be welcomed by fans of Hideo Kojima. Furthermore, let’s not forget that Kojima Productions is developing an Xbox exclusive.
We reviewed Death Stranding

In our review of Death Stranding: Director’s Cut on PS5, we said: “Its story and world are full of mystery. Sam is a likeable protagonist with a job that requires time and it should be played as such. Death Stranding is a game you take your time with if you truly want to get the most out of it.”
