The publisher that now owns the TimeSplitters license may have just teased an announcement for a new game.

Back in 2018, Koch Media with THQ Nordic acquired the rights to the TimeSplitters series, so it should come as little surprise that we’ll get a new game one day.
At the time, Koch Media CEO Klemens Kundratitz said in a press release:
“We are hugely excited to have acquired TimeSplitters,” said Kundratitz. “The original games gave fans a massive content offer and provided a pure and genuinely fun arcade shooter experience. We have many fans of the TimeSplitters series among our own staff who are passionate about creating a product that will thrill today’s gaming audience.”

Around a year later there were rumours that a playable build of TimeSplitters 4 exists, and it is being developed by Dambuster Studios, the team currently working on Dead Island 2.
Since that time, the rumour mill pretty much hasn’t stopped spinning and last year we had another tease (of sorts) related to TimeSplitters.
However, Deep Silver and THQ Nordic have seemingly once again been teasing something TimeSplitters-related. It could be something, or it could be a laugh at our expense, only they will know.
When a fan tagged both Deep Silver and THQ Nordic in a tweet, THQ Nordic asked Deep Silver “New Timesplitters, when Deep Silver?”
Deep Silver replied: “We have no news to share right now.” Straight away fans would have noticed the “right now” part of the tweet and THQ Nordic played up to those specific words.
THQ Nordic replied with a gif featuring Jim Carrey from Dumb & Dumber with the quote: “So you’re telling me there’s a chance?”
Obviously, this could all be for nothing and as I said earlier, it could just be a laugh at our expense.
However, the rights to TimeSplitters were acquired for a reason so it makes sense that we’ll get a new game at some point.
With E3 2021 just a couple of months away, hopefully, we won’t have too long to find out either way. Are you looking forward to a potential new TimeSplitters?
