Alien warfare has been raging in Grand Theft Auto Online for the best part of a month now, and it seems that the antics haven’t gone unnoticed by Rockstar Games. The company actually seems to be encouraging the nonsense – by offering out free alien suits for those wishing to take part in the rioting.
The news comes via Twitter, where Rockstar Games said the following: “Green and Purple Martian Bodysuits are free in GTA Online all week long.
“Grab yours and join the fight – available from any clothing store by going to Outfits: Arena War > Bodysuits. Plus pick up a Pool Cue from Ammu-Nation for free until May 13”
In case you missed it, GTA Online players dressed as aliens have been battling it out in either green or purple suits, and it’s been probably my highlight of the year so far.
It all started last month, when gangs of players cosplaying as green aliens started to target innocent gamers in the online GTA game. Players found themselves under attack by the green aliens in the most unlikely of places, until the purple aliens came to the rescue.
Purple aliens started to not only fight back against the green aliens, but also directly looked to “rescue” players terrorised by the green villains.
Now it’s pretty much all-out war, and thanks to Rockstar, it’s never been a better time to pick your side. If you’re keen to join the battle, you’ll need to pick your side wisely. Will you be an evil green villain, or a purple vigilante? It’s one of the joys of online games, that’s for sure.
