The Last of Us remake launch trailer shows off its incredible upgrade with the release just around the next corner. Happy days!
The Last of Us: Part 1 is just over a week away and it’s a remake of the 2013 original built from the ground up. This remake looks to be an upgrade to The Last of Us: Part 2. However, it won’t be held back by last-gen hardware.
When The Last of Us remake was officially announced earlier in the year, it perhaps wasn’t all that obvious to see what improvements have been made. However, Naughty Dog has released a number of comparison videos as well as in-depth developer insights.
The Last of Us remake looks incredible
Yet, as videos and gameplay details were released over the last several weeks, the improvements made to this remake became more obvious. Not only are the character animations and environments vastly improved, but it also makes fantastic use of lighting and ray-tracing technology.

That being said, the question remains, now that this game is on its third release, will it be as critically acclaimed as the versions that came before? Probably not. However, if this is your introduction to The Last of Us, then you’ll be in for a treat.
When is The Last of Us: Part 1 release date?
The Last of Us: Part 1 will release for PlayStation 5 on September 2nd, 2022. It will then be released for PC at a later date.

In related news, recently we got our best look yet at The Last of Us TV series adaptation from HBO. Furthermore, if you found the Trophies a grind to acquire in the original game, it looks like the Trophies in the remake will be much easier to earn.
