It should come as no surprise that Ragnarok has sold so well. I’m sure if everyone looked at their PlayStation friends list, there would be at least one person playing the latest entry in the series.

What’s more, the God of War Ragnarok Collector’s Edition and Jotnar Edition sold out like hotcakes, providing a small indication of its popularity.

God of War Ragnarok smashes records!

Posted on the official PlayStation social media channels, Ragnarok is officially the fastest-selling exclusive launch title and it sold over 5.1 million copies during its debut week. Furthermore, it is also the best-selling game in the entire franchise.

We reviewed Ragnarok!

In our review of God of War Ragnarok, we said: “Ragnarok is everything you loved about the previous title, but amplified. The longer story and expanded worlds give way for characters to develop in meaningful ways, making the whole game feel very much like a sequel worthy of its predecessor.

In related news, Ragnarok director Eric Williams has told fans to not count on the latest game getting story DLC. However, Williams has also expressed a desire to one day develop a Castlevania game. Seriously Konami, make that happen!
