Games Like GTA Mafia

Mafia: Definitive Edition – games like gta

Become a made man in Mafia: Definitive Edition, a story about a wronged cabbie unwillingly dragged into the murk of the American Mafia world. One of the most beloved gangster games ever, this full remake of the 2002 original doesn’t disappoint, updating Lost Heaven with all the gloss and gore you’d expect from modern consoles. Mafia’s tommy gun, depression era aesthetic might be a world away from GTA’s bright lights and seedy streets, but this is a game that gets the underworld right. Plus, the remake includes motorcycles, an effortlessly cool addition to 1930s gangster life.

Games Like GTA cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 – games like gta

A grimy take on the future of corporate America, Cyberpunk 2077 sees you play as an outcast looking to establish who they really are in a violent reality. Though the gameplay is more action RPG than adventure beat ‘em up, the game is like GTA in its carjacking, anti-establishment mentality, and there’s a lot of satire involved when it comes to your place in society. Try this if you like free roaming around a sleazy city and getting in (and out!) of trouble of your own making.

Far Cry 6 – games like gta

Topple a corrupt regime in Far Cry 6, the latest instalment in Ubisoft’s action playground. A gorgeous open world adventure with more criminal overtones than a gangster’s rap sheet, this is the game for you if you love exploring packed environments with colourful characters. The intense action feels like an evolved version of GTA’s shootouts, and fans of the palm-tree ambiance of Los Santos will love the Caribbean setting of Yara. Be warned: flying is equally as uncontrollable (though enjoyable) as you careen wildly over the landscape.

Games Like GTA sleeping dogs

Sleeping Dogs

A deeply underrated martial arts classic, Sleeping Dogs follows the story of what happens on the other side of the law, with undercover cop Wei Shen infiltrating the notorious Hong Kong underworld. The hand-to-hand combat still feels fantastic over a decade after release, and the  John Woo vibes stand out from the popular US-centric take on open world gaming. Guns aren’t super common, but when you do get one, the gunfights are on another level. GTA meets Police Story: play it.

Games Like GTA red dead redemption 2

Red Dead Redemption 2

Rockstar’s other action-adventure juggernaut, Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the best games like GTA for its sheer size, player freedom and outlaw attitude. Like its predecessor RDR2 is set in the lawless days of the Wild West, following protagonist Arthur Morgan as he struggles to escape the relentless march of the law. Probably the most technically impressive open world to date, it’s easy to get lost in the gunslinging, horse-riding exploration that this game brings to the table. As with the very best crime games, you’ll find incredibly likeable, morally questionable characters.
